As the Malaysian government promotes the Industrialised Building System (IBS), demand for high-quality precast concrete (PC) components is surging. Recently, HSCRANE delivered a custom 50-ton double girder gantry crane to a large Malaysian PC factory. This client produces precast bridge beams, large pipe galleries, and residential wall panels. Their core need was a stable lifting solution for long components in harsh outdoor environments.
During project research, the HSCRANE engineering team identified three major difficulties:
●Long Component Lifting: Precast beams require an extremely wide working span and synchronized dual-end driving.
●Heavy-Duty High-Frequency Work: 50-ton components demand high structural strength and fatigue resistance.
●Tropical Climate Challenges: Malaysia is hot and humid. Outdoor cranes face severe corrosion and electrical reliability risks.
●Optimized Large Span Design: This 50-ton crane uses a double girder design to cover a large yard area. We used Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimize the main beam. This design reduces weight while increasing rigidity for precise transport.
●Unmatched Heavy-Duty Stability: The crane uses a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) system for heavy PC components. Both hoisting and traveling mechanisms feature “soft start” and “soft stop.” This stability protects expensive molds and improves ground safety.
●Advanced Corrosion Protection: To handle Malaysia’s tropical climate, we applied a high-grade triple-layer paint system. The electrical cabinets use a double-layer heat insulation design. We also included industrial-grade dehumidifiers for stable core component performance.
●Smart Safety Monitoring System: The equipment features overload limiters, anemometers, and real-time status screens. Operators can monitor loads, paths, and temperatures. This achieves transparent digital operation and maintenance.
Since starting production, the 50t double girder gantry crane has become the factory’s core. Customer feedback shows:
●Efficiency Gains: The lifting cycle time for a single precast component decreased by 20%.
●Cost Control: Smooth operation reduced abnormal wear on molds and wheels. Annual maintenance costs are expected to drop by 15%.
●Operating Experience: VFD technology allows for precise micro-positioning. This greatly reduces the collision rate during lifting.
The success of the Malaysian 50-ton project proves HSCRANE’s custom strength in heavy-duty equipment. From Southeast Asia to global industrial bases, we provide rock-solid lifting solutions.
