Haiphong, Vietnam, is a vital coastal industrial city and port hub in Southeast Asia. In 2025, a multinational machinery parts processor in the Haiphong Industrial Zone faced production upgrades. Their compact workshop handles precision molds and metal castings weighing 3-4.5 tons. Traditional forklift handling occupied ground space and offered low efficiency for precise alignment. The client needed a jib crane solution with a small footprint, flexible rotation, and point-to-point positioning.

360° Coverage and Space Optimization

The 5-ton jib crane uses a pillar-mounted design, occupying less than 1 square meter of floor space. Its 6-meter arm provides 360-degree electric rotation, covering over 110 square meters. This allows the client to connect machining, inspection, and stacking areas easily. It completely replaces bulky forklifts within the limited workshop area.

Low Headroom Design and Height Utilization

Internal fire pipes and lighting restricted the available overhead space. HSCRANE configured a low headroom electric chain hoist. This design shortens the distance between the hook and the beam. It provides extra lifting height under the same ceiling level. This ensures large molds cross equipment obstacles smoothly.

Precise Alignment with VFD Control

In mold assembly, any vibration can cause workpiece damage. We upgraded the jib crane slewing mechanism with a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). This ensures extremely smooth starts and stops, eliminating the “pendulum effect” caused by inertia. Operators can precisely position 5-ton loads over 5mm diameter alignment holes.

Protective Coatings for Coastal Environments

Haiphong has high humidity and salt spray corrosion risks. All surfaces underwent sandblasting and received 120μm epoxy zinc-rich anti-corrosion paint. Electrical components are integrated into IP55 sealed control boxes. This effectively prevents short circuits caused by moisture intrusion.
